How we know

The research behind the Summit Map, what we've established, and what we're still testing.

The Summit Map is built by a PhD psychologist on decades of published research: the classic model of thinking, doing and feeling; research on habits, planning and self-control; and research on resilience, goals and meaning in life.

Gifts and foundation, measured separately

Your gifts are traits: stable. Your foundation is your current state: it changes. We measure them in different ways, so the report can tell the difference.

Hard to fake

Paired choices mean you can't rate yourself high on everything. Every part of your foundation includes a reverse-worded check.

Honest claims

We publish what our data shows and never claim more. Your report is for growth. It isn't a diagnosis.

Built to get better

With your permission, anonymous results help us test and improve the instrument every quarter.

What we can claim, and when

We never claim more than our evidence shows. Here is where each claim stands today.

  1. Built by a PhD psychologist on established researchIn place today
  2. Research-based and reliableAfter about 500 completions, when reliability data is published
  3. Validated against established measuresAfter convergent and predictive studies
  4. Technical manualWithin 12 months of launch
